2023 was a year of growth and new challenges. Nurturing old relationships and embarking on new partnerships. Your support has been crucial - thank you so much for being there! We wish you all the best for the coming year and, in the meantime, here's a re-cap from some of Intercultural Understanding's 2023 highlights:
IDI Guided Developmental Coaching
The Intercultural Development Inventory is one of the methodologies that we use with clients to increase intercultural understanding in professional, educational, and governmental settings
The Georgetown University Madrid and Salamanca programs had 21 students take part in IDI Guided Developmental coaching in Spring and Fall 2023. The program has been running since 2015 and participants have really enjoyed dedicating time to achieving their intercultural coaching goals.
Lily Plum, who took part in Fall 2023 program has this to say:
"I cannot recommend Almendra’s cultural coaching highly enough. As an American student studying abroad in Madrid, Almendra helped me more deeply comprehend the new environment I was living in. Her work is focused and evidenced based – it answered questions I didn’t know I had while adding deeper meaning and reflection to my time in Spain. She gave me confidence to be adaptable in situations that were not always comfortable. Cultural coaching isn’t something I anticipated taking part in, but I am so glad I did. Thank you Almendra!"
We’re looking forward to more IDI based trainings and IDI Guided Developmental Coaching in 2024! Learn more

Cutting the ties that bind
Intercultural competency and identity work can take many shapes and forms. For some of our clients it involves an inner approach to greater self-understanding and awareness. In 2023 we began offering Cutting the Ties that Bind sessions online as a tool for individuals to gain greater independence and internal security for life transitions and changes.
We’re looking forward to expanding our sessions online and in person too in 2024!
